His comment-The crux of the combination is, lordship is more important than mere natural maleficence of the planet.

My explanation- Note - Let us examine why the result is as attributed by Mantershwara in Phaldeepika Sutra 3 of Chapter 10 on Kalatar Bhava.

Saturn is lord of ascendant and 2nd here, Mars owns the 4th and 11th ( a Trishadya),7th lord moon becomes the sign placement lord of both Saturn and Mars. A point worth noting is that all the planets here own a Kendra, As per Prashari concept a Kendra lord in Kendra if malefic will behave more like a neutral planet and shed away the malefic intent, both Mars and Saturn are Malefics both own a Kendra Both are in a female sign, the sign lord is also female planet here moon, The Lagna lord Saturn also owns a female sign the Capricorn. Further classical text opines that chastity of the woman is seen from her fourth house in the male native's horoscope it will be the 10th house here its lord is a Venus again a Kendra lord and female planet.

I feel that Naturally malefic planets which are inimical to each other under the house rulership of the 7th lord moon will rather project the traits of the 7th house because being malefic and Kendra lords they shed away the malefic intent and behave like a neutral.

From the point of aspects, this placement of Saturn and Mars ensures aspects to all Kendra's and to the Mool Trikona Rashi's of each other, Saturn aspects 9th,4th and ascendant, Mars 10th, ascendant and 2nd.

Reversing the horoscope from the point of view of the wife, The Lagna becomes Karka Saturn and Mars are in Lagna and assuming the Lagna to be Karka ( cancer ) Saturn is the lord of 7th,8th, Mars owns the 10th and 5th. Saturns placement in Kendra sign here in ascendant from wife's Lagna and with a Yogyakarta Mars will create positive results for the bhava here, the 7th as it will aspect its own sign while being related to a Yoga karaka. ( Laghu Prashari says that a malefic related to yoga Karka gives good result ) The consideration of the bhava representing a relative as Lagna is also given in Phaldeepika itself.

Saturn is placed adversely from its 8th house here being 12th from it so the 8th house significations including the illicit relations or extramarital relations etc are ruled out altogether.

Now the planets Jupiter represents memory and wisdom, Mercury intellect and loss of memory, Mars logic, Saturn the practical knowledge and common sense through the practicality of it, Moon represents the mind that covers everything including the circumstances, brain, intellect etc and is a pivotal point in a horoscope.

If Jupiter is placed in signs owned by Saturn, it harms the significations of the said house (Capricorn, is debilitation sign of Jupiter and Aquarius is the enemy sign, If Jupiter is in Aquarius this placement is adverse from its sign Sagittarius as this placement would be 3rd from the sign and 12th form its other sign the Pisces so in both the conditions it harms the interest of the house). If Saturn is placed in signs owned by Jupiter, it tends to increases the auspiciousness of those houses. If Saturn is in Sagittarius its 12th from its sign Capricorn and 11th from sign Aquarius so Saturn will give negative results for its own sign the Capricorn, so one house effect of Saturn is harmed, In Pisces, it will again be in 2nd from Aquarius and 3rd from Capricorn again adverse for Capricorn Rashi based sign. Saturn in signs of Jupiter will give results of MT sign only, as per the adage that Saturn in exaltation or representing Aquarius its MT( Mool Trikona) is more positive than negative. Another valid point of note is that if Jupiter is placed in signs owned by Saturn then Saturn becomes the dispositor of Jupiter. When Saturn is in the signs owned by Jupiter the dispositor is Jupiter the biggest benefic so Saturn benefits from this placement.

Further, if Jupiter Happens to the aspect Saturn placed in its sign then it represents the relationship of Jupiter and Saturn, Saturn will soak in the benefic influence of Jupiter entirely subject to this relationship.

 यद्यद्भावगतौ वापि यद्यद्भावेशसंयुतौ ।

तत्तत्फलानि प्रबलौ प्रदिशेतां तमोग्रहौ ॥ १३ ॥

Rahu and Ketu, give good or bad results according to their position or association. They give the results of the houses they occupy or the houses owned by the planets conjunct with them

Rahu and Ketu will act according to the quality of the house and the sign owner.

Rahu or Ketu also give results of the planets influencing them through aspects.

Rahu and Ketu also give the results of the planet they are conjoined to.

They will be neutral in the 2nd, 12th, 4th,7th and 10th houses. In the 1st, 5th, and 9th they will be auspicious. In the 8th they will be extremely evil. In the 3rd, 6th, and 11th they will be inauspicious. If they are solitary in these houses.

यदि केन्द्रे त्रिकोणे वा निवसेतां तमोग्रहौ ।

नाथेनान्यतरेणापि सम्बन्धाद्योगकारकौ ॥ २१ ॥

21. Rahu or Ketu occupying an Angle or Trine has a relationship with the Lord of any other Angle or Trine, the Yoga will be effective. If Rahu or Ketu occupies a Kendra or a Trikona and by occupying a Kendra be related to Trikona lord or by occupying a Trikona be related to a Kendra lord then they become Yogakarakas.

If Rahu and Ketu are Without the influence of any planet-

(a) In a Kendra they will be neutral while in a Trikona they will be auspicious.

(b) In the 7th or 2nd house they will function as Marakas.

(c) Placed In the 3rd,6th, or 11th house they may give inauspicious results.

(d) Placed In the 12th house they will be neutral and will reflect the result as per associated planets.

(e) Placed In the 8th house they may produce evil results.

(f) If conjunct with the planets-

(g) In a Trikona with a Kendra lord, Yogakaraka.

(h) In a Kendra with a Trikona lord, Yogakaraka.

(i) Placed In the 3rd, 6th, or 11th house with their lords, inauspicious results.

(j) Placed With the 8th house lord Rahu-Ketu will give inauspicious results but placed with the 8th lord in the 8th house—may give auspicious results.

(k) Placed In the 2nd or 7th house with their lords, as specific Marakas.

(l) Placed In the 12'th house with the 12th lord, neutral.
