SEVENTH HOUSE

In Indian astrology seventh is most important house in the worldly sense. In a horoscope it is the house of all partnerships including spouse. So all matters pertaining to marriage are ascertained from the seventh house. The planets which occupy the 7th house, their star lords and planet owning the 7th house are very important to know the happiness of married life. 7th lord should not be in 6th 8th or 12th from the 7th for a happy marriage as per Vedic astrology.

Similarly Saturn or Raahu in 7th can give marriage with an elderly person or a widow/widower or divorcee.  Mars there is a sure guarantee of two marriages. Jupiter in this house of the horoscope makes the spouse obese, mercury is a danger sign as the partner may be incapable of sex.
Indian astrology says that the relation between ascendant lord and the 7th lord should be very friendly for partners to be in good relation with each other. 7th being a quadrant it can also give Pancha maha purusha yogas just like the 4th house.
In an Indian horoscope when 10th lord combines with 7th lord the person will do business. Gain or loss depends on planets in 11th house from 7th ie the 5th house of his horoscope.

Effect of planets in 7th Bhava as per Vedic Astrology:-

Sun- Body will be emaciated, gives two spouses and spouse nature will be bad.
Moon- Peaceful and beautiful spouse
Mars- Two spouses and wife may become sick.
Mercury:- good and beautiful spouse.
Jupiter:- good wife, good partner, good vehicle
Venus- Wealth, but may lose spouse, lecherousness.
Saturn- older ugly spouse.
Raahu;- may cause marital problems and divorce proceedings etc
Kaytu- Bad sexual habits.

As per Indian astrology, the 7th Lord is also known a maraca Lord and the 7th as Maaraka house as the 7th lord can be the ultimate Killer. This aspect needs careful examination by the astrologer considering all planetary aspects.
