Spleen Disease Indications

 Spleen Disease Indications

Moon Afflictions
If Moon owns the 6th house and is conjoined with malefics, the native may suffer from spleen disorders.
If the lord of Moon’s sign and the 6th lord are both under malefic influence, spleen weakness is indicated.
Saturn–Moon Afflictions
If Saturn and the Moon conjoin in the 5th house, the native is prone to spleen disease.
Lagna Affliction
If the Ascendant lord is placed in the 7th house and receives aspect only from malefics, spleen-related disorders may arise.

Moon afflicted = disturbed fluids → spleen disorder.
Saturn + Moon = cold obstruction → spleen disease.
Malefic-only aspects weaken vitality → spleen vulnerability.

Moon Afflictions & Spleen Disease Logic

Moon as 6th Lord + Malefic Conjunction

When Moon owns the 6th house and is afflicted by malefics, disease of the spleen may arise.

Reason: Moon governs fluids and blood balance, while the 6th house governs disease.

Jupiter Connection (Spleen Significator)

If Moon is the 6th lord, then Jupiter becomes the 11th lord.

Jupiter is 6th from the 6th lord in this case, and Jupiter is the natural significator of the spleen.

Thus, affliction of Jupiter (or its placement in malefic influence) reinforces the possibility of spleen disease.

Additional Affliction Patterns

If the Ascendant lord is in 7th and receives aspect only from malefics → vitality weakened, spleen vulnerability.

If the lord of Moon’s sign + 6th lord are both under malefic influence → spleen disorder is indicated.

If Saturn and Moon conjoin in the 5th → cold obstruction + disturbed fluids → spleen disease.

There are moments when I genuinely question my own choices.

There are moments when I genuinely question my own choices.

Years have gone into studying and understanding classical Jyotiṣa—not casually, but through sustained effort. I’ve written commentaries of texts like Laghu Prashari, Uttara Kalamrita, Jatak Saradeep, and Bhavarth Ratnakar. I’ve written commentaries on Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika, though they are not yet in print. I’ve also written books on medical astrology and professional indications.

And yet, when I look at the current landscape of seekers and teachers, the gap is hard to ignore.

Most seekers today lack foundational clarity. There is curiosity, but very little discipline. There is interest, but not enough effort to engage with primary texts or test principles rigorously. Even those coming from reputed institutions often carry a rigid, syllabus-bound understanding, shaped more by authority than inquiry.

At the same time, the space is crowded with self-proclaimed “gurus” who simplify, distort, and package astrology for easy consumption. They don’t build understanding—they build dependency. They don’t encourage questioning—they sell certainty. And it works, because it aligns with what most people are looking for: quick answers, not deep study.

This creates a strange situation.

Serious work remains unseen or unpublished, while superficial narratives spread rapidly. Those who take the time to go deeper often end up isolated, watching from the sidelines as misinformation gains ground.

But the issue is not just with teachers. It’s also with the demand. When people are unwilling to invest time in understanding, they naturally gravitate toward those who offer shortcuts.

So, the question is not whether the system is flawed—it clearly is. The real question is: what do we do about it?

Do we withdraw and keep the knowledge to ourselves?
Do we engage and try to correct the course, knowing the resistance?
Or do we focus only on a handful of serious students and ignore the noise?

There may not be a perfect answer. But one thing is clear—if those who have done the work remain silent, the space will continue to be shaped by those who haven’t.

And that would be a far greater loss than the frustration we feel today.

Piśācha (पिशाच) yoga in astrology.

The word Piśācha (पिशाच) indeed carries the connotation of a demonic or socially transgressive force—something that operates outside the bounds of accepted human conduct. In classical texts, it is often used metaphorically to describe destructive, violent, or antisocial impulses or tendencies.

When Mars (Kuja) and Ketu combine, especially in sensitive houses like the 7th or 8th, the symbolism intensifies:

Mars represents raw energy, aggression, and the impulse to act.

Ketu represents detachment, severance, and irrational or unconscious impulses.

Together, they can manifest as sudden, violent reactions, often without rational control—hence the association with Piśācha nature.

Jamini’s Strī Jātaka sutras (49–52) are striking because they directly link this combination to extreme outcomes in relationships, including aggression against a partner. This is not a casual interpretation—it reflects the ancient recognition that certain planetary alignments can predispose individuals to volatile, destructive behaviour when triggered.

Murderers and psychopaths resonate with modern psychological parallels:

Psychopathy involves lack of empathy, impulsivity, and aggression—qualities that Mars + Ketu can symbolically represent.

Violent reaction to situations is a hallmark of this yoga, especially when other malefic influences or weak benefic supports exist in the chart.

What’s fascinating is how the ancient metaphor of Piśācha overlaps with modern psychological categories. The ancients didn’t have the language of psychiatry, but they encoded these tendencies in mythic and symbolic terms. In teaching or outreach, this can be presented as:

Mnemonic punchline: Mars + Ketu = Piśācha impulse: sudden, violent, antisocial.

Comparative chart: Show how Mars + Ketu differs from Mars + Rahu (which is obsessive, compulsive, but not necessarily violent).

Highlight houses (7th, 8th, 12th) where this yoga is most disruptive.

Here’s a structured comparative chart. It distils the psychological and behavioural tendencies of Mars alone, Mars + Rahu, and Mars + Ketu, with a mnemonic punchline for each.

Comparative Chart: Mars Combinations in Human Nature

Combination

Core Symbolism

Behavioral Expression

Psychological Tone

Mnemonic Punchline

Mars Alone

Raw energy, drive, courage

Assertive, competitive, straightforward action

Clear aggression, but often purposeful

Mars = Soldier impulse: direct, bold, combative

Mars + Rahu

Obsession, compulsion, amplification

Overheated ambition, reckless pursuit, compulsive aggression

Obsessive, compulsive, power-hungry

Mars + Rahu = Asura impulse: obsessive, compulsive, overreaching

Mars + Ketu

Severance, detachment, irrationality

Sudden violent reaction, destructive outburst, antisocial tendencies

Irrational, unconscious, violent, socially transgressive

Mars + Ketu = Piśācha impulse: violent, antisocial, demonic

Teaching Notes

  • Mars alone is like a soldier—direct, combative, but within the rules of engagement.
  • Mars + Rahu is like an Asura—obsessive, compulsive, driven by insatiable hunger for power or dominance.
  • Mars + Ketu is like a Piśācha—irrational, violent, and socially transgressive, often manifesting as sudden destructive impulses.

Application

  • In 7th house: Mars + Ketu can destabilize relationships, leading to aggression against partners.
  • In 8th house: It can manifest as violent, hidden tendencies, sometimes linked to criminal or antisocial behavior.
  • In 12th house: It may show unconscious destructive impulses, self-sabotage, or hidden violent tendencies.

Mars joins Saturn and the Sun in Pisces- the world events for around 45 days

In Bṛhat Saṁhitā, Varāhamihira often interprets planetary conjunctions in terms of worldly events, natural phenomena, and socio-political outcomes.— Mars joins Saturn and the Sun in Pisces:

1. Planetary Roles in Bṛhat Saṁhitā
Mars (Kuja): Associated with war, fire, aggression, rulers, and military affairs. Its entry into a sign often signals conflict, upheaval, or energetic activity.
Saturn (Śani): Linked with restriction, suffering, famine, disease, and the labouring classes. Its conjunctions tend to bring delays, scarcity, or hardship.
Sun (Sūrya): Represents kings, authority, governance, and vitality. When afflicted or joined with malefics, rulers face challenges, instability, or loss of prestige.
Pisces (Mīna Rāśi): A watery sign, connected with oceans, rivers, fish, and spiritual matters. Events here often manifest as floods, maritime issues, or shifts in religious/philosophical domains.
2. According to Varāhamihira’s method:
Mars + Saturn together: This is considered a harsh combination, producing strife, wars, accidents, and suffering among people.
Mars + Sun: Indicates fiery events, political disputes, and challenges to rulers.
Saturn + Sun: Suggests affliction to kings, administrative failures, and unrest among subjects.
All three in Pisces: Being a watery sign, this amplifies dangers related to water — floods, storms, maritime troubles, and scarcity of aquatic resources. It also points to disturbances in spiritual institutions or religious leadership.
3. Likely Developments
Political: Kings or governments may face instability, quarrels, or loss of authority. Ministers and rulers could be at odds.
Natural: Floods, heavy rains, or oceanic disturbances may occur. Fish and aquatic life may suffer.
Social: Labourers and common folk may experience hardship, scarcity of food, or disease outbreaks.
Military/Conflict: Wars or violent disputes may flare up, especially near coastal or riverine regions.
Philosophical/Religious: Pisces being a mokṣa sign, spiritual leaders or institutions may face turbulence, reform, or controversy.
"When fiery Mars, stern Saturn, and the sovereign Sun converge in the waters of Pisces, kings tremble, oceans roar, and the people endure trials — yet from turbulence arises a new order."

Simplified Version of Verses on Neech bhang Raj yoga

Simplified Version of  Verses on Neech bhang Raj yoga

Verse 26

If a planet is in its sign of debilitation, and either the lord of that sign or the exaltation planet (Uchchanātha) is in a Kendra (1, 4, 7, 10) from the Moon or Lagna, debilitation is cancelled. The native gains royal power.

Example: Saturn debilitated in Aries.

Aries lord Mars in a Kendra from Moon/Lagna → debilitation cancelled.

Sun (exalted in Aries) in a Kendra from Moon/Lagna → debilitation cancelled.

 Verse 27

Meaning:
If both the lord of the debilitation sign and the exaltation lord are in Kendras relative to each other, the debilitation is cancelled. This forms a very strong Neechabhanga Rāja Yoga, producing a sovereign ruler.

Example: Sun debilitated in Libra.

Libra lord Venus and Aries lord Mars (Sun’s exaltation sign) in Kendras relative to each other → strong cancellation.

  Verse 28

Meaning:
If a debilitated planet receives full aspect from the lord of its debilitation sign, debilitation is cancelled.

If the planet is in good houses (Kendras or Trikonas), the yoga is powerful and gives kingly fame.

If in bad houses (6, 8, 12), the yoga is weak.

Example: Saturn debilitated in Aries.

Mars (lord of Aries) aspects Saturn → debilitation cancelled.

If Saturn is in the 10th house → strong yoga.

If Saturn is in the 8th house → weak yoga.

 Verse 29

Meaning:
If a planet is debilitated, and either the lord of that debilitation sign or the exaltation lord of that planet is in a Kendra from Lagna or Moon, debilitation is cancelled. The native becomes prosperous, famous, and respected like a king.

Example:

Sun debilitated in Libra. Libra lord Venus in Kendra from Lagna/Moon → cancellation.

Moon debilitated in Scorpio. Its exaltation sign, Taurus, is ruled by Venus.

If Venus is in Kendra → cancellation.

 Verse 30

Meaning:
If a planet is debilitated, and either (a) the lord of the debilitation sign, or (b) the lord of the exaltation sign, or both, are in a Kendra from Lagna, debilitation is cancelled. The native rises to royal prosperity.

Simplified Summary

A debilitated planet is normally weak.

Neechabhanga Rāja Yoga cancels this weakness if:

The debilitation sign’s lord is in a Kendra from Lagna/Moon.

The exaltation lord of the planet is in a Kendra from Lagna/Moon.

Both are in Kendra's relative to each other.

The debilitation sign’s lord aspects the debilitated planet.

Strength factor: Placement in Kendras (1, 4, 7, 10) or Trikonas (5, 9) makes the yoga powerful. Placement in Dusthānas (6, 8, 12) weakens it.

  In Short

From verses 26–30, the principle is repeated in different forms:
A debilitated planet regains strength if its sign-lord or exaltation-lord is strong in Kendras or aspects it. This transforms weakness into royal power, fame, and prosperity — the hallmark of Neechabhanga Rāja Yoga.

The Commodification of Karma

 The Commodification of Karma

Superficial Remedies: The idea that destiny can be altered by buying a “lucky” mobile number, inserting an extra alphabet in one’s name, or shifting furniture under the banner of Vastu is a reduction of profound spiritual principles into gimmicks.

False Authority: When practitioners claim to know your “pending karma” and then sell panaceas for emancipation, they exploit the natural human desire for relief and certainty.

Circumstantial Reality: Vastu, in its original conception, was about harmonising human dwellings with cosmic order. But circumstances of birth, geography, and livelihood often dictate one’s environment—making it less a matter of choice than of necessity.

The Ethical Problem

Manipulation of Vulnerability: These practices prey on fear, uncertainty, and hope. The gullible are mesmerised not by truth but by the promise of shortcuts.

Distortion of Tradition: Karma is not a ledger to be erased by superficial adjustments. It is a principle of moral causality, deeply embedded in dharma and spiritual practice.

Loss of Integrity: When wisdom becomes marketing, the sacred is trivialised, and seekers are misled.

 The Authentic Path

Discernment (Viveka): True spiritual progress requires discrimination between what is genuine and what is deceptive.

Effort and Grace: Karma is transformed through conscious action, ethical living, devotion, and the grace of the Divine—not through commercial tricks.

Compassionate Critique: While exposing deception, one must also pray for those caught in it, that they may find clarity and strength.

 Aphoristic Expansion

Here’s a distilled punchline you could use in teaching or outreach:

“Karma is not a number to be bought, nor a letter to be sold—it is the echo of our deeds, answered only by dharma and grace.”

“Destiny is not altered by alphabets or digits, but by actions aligned with truth.”

 “भाग्य अक्षरों या अंकों से नहीं बदलता, सत्य से जुड़े कर्मों से बदलता है।”

ਕਿਸਮਤ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਅੰਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਲਦੀ ਹੈ।”

Layers of the Problem

False Sanctity: The robe or ritual becomes a costume, masking greed and manipulation.

Exploitation of Faith: Vulnerable seekers are persuaded that liberation or relief can be bought, while genuine spiritual effort is sidelined.

Political Patronage: When politicians protect such practitioners, the exploitation gains legitimacy, making it harder for truth to prevail.

Cycle of Dependency: The gullible remain trapped, thinking they are receiving divine solutions, while in reality they are feeding a nexus of power and profit.

Philosophical Reflection

Authentic spirituality is about liberation from bondage, not deeper entanglement in fear and dependency. The irony is stark: those who claim to dissolve karma often create new karmic chains of exploitation. The robe should symbolise renunciation, but here it becomes a tool of manipulation. And when worldly power shields such practices, discernment (viveka) becomes the only safeguard for seekers.

“When robes hide greed, and politics guard deception, faith itself becomes the victim. True spirituality liberates—it never manipulates.”
