“The verse
enumerates the bodily organs and parts that may be afflicted by disease: the
head, face and mouth, throat, ears, nose, the genital organ, hands, sides of
the body, the ten fingers and toes, feet, ankles, and armpits.”
In Sarvārtha Chintāmaṇi, such verses are used to diagnose
or identify diseased body parts based on astrological indications. The text
provides a systematic list of organs so that astrologers can correlate
planetary afflictions with specific physical ailments.
Principle
If the 6th house is afflicted, the trouble or disease
manifests in the body part represented by the planet that is afflicted
in the 6th house.
The author enumerates which body parts each planet governs.
