Kendra the modifiers .

 Kendra positions are modifiers, they may add additional element balance other than the normal friendship enmity influence of the sign-owning planet, When we examine the Kendra positions from the Lagna or the planet, the four Kendras will all express different elements, thus the planet may be exposed to different element if not in the sign of exaltation, the exception to this mars, it owns a fire sign and the water sign but exalts in earth sign Capricorn, it shows the adaptability and fighting nature of the mars as it is not intimidated by the elements but rather controls them. Let us assume Moon is in Libra and Jupiter is in Capricorn, both the planets are in enemy signs and exposed to different elements Moon to Air and Jupiter to Earth, so it will bring in a few changes first because of disposition, second because of the element now let us assume the moon is in cancer its own sign and element, Jupiter is in libra here Jupiter is in an enemy sign and under the influence of an airy sign. But when the planets are in trine or in Trikona to each other they are in the same element and are friends to each other so the trine relationship offers better support than the Kendra relationship, no doubt the author of Laghu Prashari Opines that Kendra positions are secondary in being benefic to Trines or Trikonas.

Vedic astrology and the Fundementals that appear contrary .

 Vedic astrology works in layers, the principles and fundamentals that seem contrary work in parallel here, this perhaps is the reason that most seem to not understand the core and concepts of astrology.

For example, all texts maintain benefic planets in Kendras are good, but BPHS differs here it rather adds a condition that if benefic owns the Kendra it will behave like neutral and its other sign will decide its functionality.

Bhava Adhaya of Phaldeepika maintains that bhava that have Benefic in it, receives benefic aspect or is hemmed in benefic planets receives strength and gives a boost to its significations.

Now Panch Mahapursh Yoga if the benefic planets are exalted I mean Jupiter and Venus don't own the Kendras, therefore will produce good as planets, and the bhava they are in will also prosper, the same is applicable to bhava the aspect. I am not taking Mercury here as it's conditional Benefic.

For Malefics If Mars exalts as Kendra's lord in Cancer ascendant it is a Yoga karaka and as lord of trine, it will produce good, libra as 7th/2nd lord in 10th it gains on directional strength as well as lord of 7th and 2nd it may give gains in independent profession, further its placement is good from both signs. In Capricorn Mars is the lord of 11th and 4th so it may give gains from house properties, land, and Vehicles but the native may also b prone to accidents and injuries through or from Vehicles. In Aries ascendant Mars in 10th is a blessing it will give good health and a stable career.
