Key Clarifications
Sequential nourishment: Each dhatu is formed from the
essence of the previous one. Shukra is the last and most refined.
Venus’s paradox: Venus rules both sour taste and
Shukra Dhatu. Sour taste stimulates but can deplete Shukra; the dhatu chain
itself builds Shukra when all tissues are healthy.
Twach (skin): Often considered an upadhatu (secondary
tissue), but in your mapping it’s given Mercury’s rulership, which makes
sense—skin is communicative, sensitive, and mercurial in nature.
So the nourishment chain is:
Rasa → Rakta → Mamsa → Meda → Asthi → Majja → Shukra (with Twach as a secondary
dhatu under Mercury).
This way, Venus governs the final refinement
(Shukra), while the other planets govern the intermediate stages of
nourishment.
