Astrology of Febrile Seizures

Febrile seizures are convulsions that can happen during a fever (febrile means "feverish"). They affect kids 6 months to 5 years old, and are most common in toddlers 12-18 months old. The seizures usually last for a few minutes and are accompanied by a fever above 100.4°F (38°C).
While they can be frightening, febrile seizures usually end without treatment and don't cause any other health problems. Having one doesn't mean that a child will have epilepsy or brain damage.
About Febrile Seizures
During a febrile seizure, a child's whole body may convulse, shake, and twitch, eyes may roll, and he or she may moan or become unconscious. This type of seizure is usually over in a few minutes, but in rare cases can last up to 15 minutes.
Febrile seizures stop on their own, while the fever continues until it is treated. Some kids might feel sleepy afterwards; others feel no lingering effects.
No one knows why febrile seizures occur, although evidence suggests that they're linked to certain viruses. Kids with a family history of febrile seizures are more likely to have one, and about 35% of kids who have had one seizure will experience another (usually within the first 1-2 years of the first). Kids who are younger (under 15 months) when they have their first febrile seizure are also at higher risk for a future febrile seizure. Most children outgrow having febrile seizures by the time they are 5 years old.
Febrile seizures are not considered epilepsy, and kids who've had a febrile seizure only have a slightly increased risk for developing epilepsy compared to the general population.
Treating Febrile Seizures
If your child has a febrile seizure, stay calm and:
·         Make sure your child is in a safe place and cannot fall down or hit something hard.
·         Lay your child on his or her side to prevent choking.
·         Watch for signs of breathing difficulty, including any color change in your child's face.
·         If the seizure lasts more than several minutes, or your child turns blue, it may be a more serious type of seizure — call 911 right away.
It's also important to know what you should not do during a febrile seizure:
·         Do not try to hold or restrain your child.
·         Do not put anything in your child's mouth.
·         Do not try to give your child fever-reducing medicine.
·         Do not try to put your child into cool or lukewarm water to cool off.
If your child is vomiting or has a lot of saliva coming from the mouth turn their head to the side to prevent choking.
When the seizure is over, call your doctor for an evaluation to determine the cause of the fever. The doctor will examine your child and ask you to describe the seizure. In most cases, no additional treatment is necessary. The doctor may recommend the standard treatment for fevers, which is acetaminophen or ibuprofen. But if your child is under 1 year old, looks very ill, or has other symptoms such as diarrhea or vomiting, the doctor may recommend some testing.
Get help right away from a health care provider if:
·         the seizure lasts more than several minutes
·         your child is having trouble breathing or is changing color
·         your child looks ill
·         your child looks lethargic and is not responding normally
·         your child looks dehydrated
Febrile seizures can be scary to witness but remember that they're fairly common, are not usually a symptom of serious illness, and in most cases don't lead to other health problems. If you have any questions or concerns, talk with your doctor.

Astrological pointers.
Relative to Ayurveda, we must remember that Vata dosha, which generally indicates the forces of decay, causes the greatest number of diseases, particularly those of a degenerative nature or debilitating in long term effects. Pitta is second to Vata as a disease-causing dosha, producing febrile, infectious and bleeding disorders, which are generally acute. Kapha is third, providing physical strength and stamina, but causing diseases from excess indulgence, lack of activity or overweight, conditions that are usually chronic but mild in their results.
The pitta planets- Mars ,Sun.
Mars represents injury and accidents, particularly those that cause bleeding, including surgery. It indicates acute infectious diseases, with elevated temperature and the build up of toxins. It produces fever, inflammation and burning sensations of various types.
The Sun as the source of light and life is the general giver of health, vitality and energy. When strong it promotes overall physical and mental harmony and well-being. Yet, when afflicting other planets or houses of health, the Sun can cause fiery Pitta diseases, much like Mars. It makes us prone to circulatory system disorders, including heart attacks. It can give high fevers that exhaust the body fluids.
Rahu causes psychological and nervous disorders, including stress, insomnia, bad dreams, palpitations, tremors, insanity, and paralysis. It produces neurosis, hysteria, vertigo, fright and convulsions. When highly afflicted, it can make a person suicidal or manic-depressive.

Rahu´s disease-causing effects are strongly feared in Vedic astrology and should be carefully examined in the chart. However, they are unlikely to manifest unless triggered by the influence of another malefic (like Mars or Saturn) by aspect or association, or if Rahu strongly influences the Ascendant or another benefic, particularly the Moon. Mercury carries all tridoshas and is generally responsible for body defense and is responsible for nervous disorders.
Lord of  sixth is retrograde and is aspected by Mars and retrograde saturn  ,on account of being retrograde jupiter aspects Rahu and moon in the fourth house . Though mars is yogakarka it is also under the aspect of retrograde saturn a maraka as lord of 7th house. As a sixth lord jupiter aspects trioka of planets in 12th house ,here sun is  maraka in maran karaka sthaan.  The virgo pisces axis houses retrograde saturn a maraka as it is lord of 7th .Jupiter as rog karka also aspects the lagna. Lagna is in paap kartari . In past posts I have demonstrated that sun+mer combination is mainly responsible for nervous disorders as convulsions is basically a nerve activity we find it again in 12th.sun as pitta planet gives fevers ,mercury responsible for all tridoshas  triggers nerve activity . Moon the karaka of mind is afflicted by rahu is not strong enough to withstand the effect. Both benifics jupiter and venus are weak, sun as maran karka induces fevers in 12th , Sun+ mer combination triggers nervous disorder. Moon is weak and afflicted as lagan lord.
