Earning and livelihood through private parts
Verse
कर्मेशे , दयून राशिस्थे मन्दभौमसमन्विते।
दयूनेशे पापसंयुक्ते शिश्नोंदरपरायणः॥२१४॥
Translation & Simplified Meaning
If the 10th lord (Karmesha) is placed in the 7th
house (Duyūna Rāśi), and is conjoined with Saturn (Manda) and Mars
(Bhūma),
And if the 7th lord (Duyūneśa) is under the influence
of malefics (pāpa-saṃyukta),
Then the native is said to earn livelihood through the use
of sexual organs (śiśna-udara-parāyaṇaḥ = one who sustains the stomach
through the genitals).
Explanation in Plain English
This is a classical astrological yoga describing a very
specific and socially sensitive outcome:
The 10th house represents profession, livelihood, and
karma.
The 7th house represents relationships, sexuality,
and partnerships.
When the 10th lord (career) is strongly tied to the 7th
house (sexuality), and further afflicted by harsh planets like Saturn
and Mars, the career may be linked to sexual activity.
If the 7th lord itself is under malefic influence,
this reinforces the indication.
Thus, the text concludes that such a person may earn their
living through sexual means.
Important Note
Classical texts often describe extreme yogas in blunt terms.
Modern interpretation requires sensitivity:
Such combinations may also indicate professions connected
with entertainment, beauty, intimacy, or counseling in relationships,
not only literal sex work.
The severity depends on the strength of benefic
influences (like Jupiter or Venus). If benefics aspect or join, the outcome
can shift toward more socially accepted professions involving relationships, art,
or healing.
In short: This yoga shows that when career (10th lord)
is bound to sexuality (7th house) under malefic pressure, livelihood may
come through sexual means. But benefic influences can transform this into more
dignified relationship-oriented professions.
