Effective communication- The astrological angle

Effective communication--- Every one in corporate world wants it but few have it,'wondered why?
Mercury is the planet that's the primary karaka of communication and the expression involved in it. You won't be able to choose the right words at the right time, in case, your mercury is weak. You may be good in grammar, vocabulary etc, but won't be able to speak the right thing at the right time, without fumbling.
Saturn (foreign language like, English or French etc), Jupiter (local language, Sanskrit) and Mercury - these are the important grahas responsible behind making you an effective orator.

Vedic Astrology calls mercury as Budh which means cleverness. This planet represents the qualities of intelligence, wit and humor in a person. Mercury is considered a benefic planet but under some situations it may play a role of malefic planet. Mercury placed in 6th, 8th or 12th houses fails to deliver good results. The same is the result when Mercury is the lord of 6th, 8th or 12th houses in a horoscope.
Mercury is the planet of communication and it represents the fields related to commerce, trade, accounts, banking, and computers. A Strong Mercury denotes success in these fields. People with Mercury in strong position in their chart have sharp thinking but inborn anxiety and indecisiveness also.
Mercury is dual natured planet and governs two zodiac signs namely Gemini and Virgo. Body parts that are ruled by Mercury are the arms, ear, lungs and nervous system.
Mercury believes in logic. People with strong Mercury in their horoscopes possess the excellence of reasoning and analytic ability. Researchers also have strong Mercury in their natal chart.
Telephone and Telegraph controls means of communication too; therefore Mercury also governs the work related to telephone, telegraphs, e-mails, couriers and post etc. Therefore well-placed, strong mercury is usually seen in horoscopes of writers, astrologers, mathematician, engineer, dealers, brokers, businessmen (a person with Mercury in strong position in their chart is undeniably charming and shrewd), and media persons. Mercury also develops verbal communication and hand skills. Hence many lecturers, artists, sculptors and salesmen are also the result of well-placed mercury
A mercurial nature brings to mind restlessness and motion. Rat-a-tat-tat -- things happen fast here. Mercury is about a quick wit, quick thinking, possibilities, opinions, reasoning and the ability to rationalize things. Mercurial energy can be good or bad, but it will certainly be energizing! This planet also prompts us to move from one thing to the next and to get answers on both a physical and psychological level. Further, Mercury's energy is both dexterous and perceptive.
Speaking, writing, books, online communications and learning are all within Mercury's domain. This planet implores us to express ourselves often -- and well. When Mercury goes retrograde (the appearance of traveling backward), however, our communications will be challenged.

Knowing your Mercury sign can help you understand and maximize your imaginative potential. It may reveal why you aren’t always on the same wavelength with others, and offer clues to sharing your unique gifts of expression. The aspects your Mercury makes with other planets may explain quirks in your manner of speaking, such as being defensive, chatty, eloquent, emotional, etc. Since the mind can be its own house of mirrors, this also can show a mind drawn to illusions or to playing games with others.
In the infinite variety of life, Mercury determines your fascinations, what kinds of puzzles you’ll want to work out, where you’d like to focus your mind power. Mercury’s influence on how you think can steer your career path, since you’ll likely be drawn to areas in which your mind thrives and excels.
In relationships of all kinds, frictions and confusion can arise when Mercury clashes. For example, an earth sign Mercury may  raise eyebrow at the air sign whose abstract notions seem out of this world. But put two air signs together, and speech resumes at the speed of light. Knowing the tone and timbre of a person’s Mercury can sometimes bridge the gap of understanding.
