 The Dushthana houses and their domain over the sickness and misfortune-

• Houses 6, 8, and 12 are the dushthana houses or houses of suffering and difficulties.

• The 3rd house is also considered as a dushthana, but with a milder effect (the 3rd is the 8th from the 8th).

• Those houses are adverse to the material prosperity and well-being and the planets placed in those houses and the houses they rule tend to suffer, be obstructed, and be sources of pain in life.

• The people or parts of the body that the planets placed on those houses represent will tend to be a source of pain.

• If the planets paced here are exalted or in their own house, it is actually beneficial and gives the capacity to endure or overcome pain and difficulties.

• The 6th house relates to obstacles, diseases, accidents, enemies, and debt.

• The 8th house relates to obstruction, death, darkness, or depression.

• The 12th house relates to loss, separation, and endings.

• In spite of that, they are also important houses for spiritual growth, and if they are strong and well-disposed they represent the capacity to practice Yoga and liberate from pain.

The Maraka houses

• The 2nd and 7th houses are called the Maraka or "killer" houses and have the capacity to cause death or disease.

• Usually, the death o a person is during the Maha Dasha or Antar Dasha and/or transits of a planet placed or associated with those houses or the ruler of those houses.

• The ruler of the 8th, 12th and 3rd houses or planets placed on those houses are also capable of causing death.

Adoption in Vedic astrology

 BPHS on Dattak or Kritrim Putra If there is a sign of Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn or Aquarius, and Saturn or Gulik/mandi be in it then the person may acquire an adopted son or from other means. If the lord of 5th is in 6th and 6th in 12th and the lord of ascendant is weak then the person may again have an adopted child. Now in the present age, this shloka can indicate surrogacy If the 5th house has a malefic in it, Saturn is in 5th to Jupiter then the native will have a son from the 2nd or third wife. In present conditions that can indicate siring a child from a woman other than the own wife and therefore may indicate a surrogacy combination here. Shlokas 88-121 ( BPHS)

 This continues my previous write-ups on the panch Mahapursh yogas and the four Kendras. In exaltation, if Jupiter is in Kendra forming a Hamsa yoga it does not own any Kendra but in Aries ascendant, it will own the 9th Trikona and is Bhagyesh, in cancer ascendant, it's again a Bhagayesh, in libra, it's functionally malefic and again it does not own a Kendra so the rule of natural benefic in Kendra does not apply, so a powerful Jupiter in 10th will actually strengthen 10th lord as its depositor but at the same time may be responsible diseases and ill health, its result in period or Antar will not be good as it is placed in 8th from Mooltrikona sign but as a strong 6th lord it will definitely harm health this principle of placement of planet from its signs is from Bhavarth Ratnakar. Now the last ascendant in this series Capricorn Jupiter is again functionally malefic it owns 12th and 3rd as a 12th lord Jupiter in7th may again strengthen the 7th lord moon and business and marriage of the native may prosper but if this Jupiter gets to associate with malefic or Marak it may kill in its Dasha and Antar Dasha or may create serious sickness as well here again Jupiter is placed in 6/8 relationship to its MT sign, therefore, may actually be helpful or create a Vipreet yoga but being 12th lord its a separatist. In common signs, Jupiter owns the two signs in Kendra in 7th if Jupiter is in Sagittarius or Pisces in spite of forming the hamsa yoga its Maraka of super quality ( Reference Laghu Prashari longevity chapter) in fixed sign ascendant Jupiter cannot be exalted in the Kendra or form a hamsa yoga because its signs do not fall in the Kendras.In common signs, Jupiter owns the ascendant in Sagittarius and Pisces. As the ascendant lord in both these ascendant signs, it will act as benefic while forming the yoga but of lesser intensity than the ascendant. signs Aries and cancer. Talking about avasthaa if a benefic planet is in 10th in Nidra or Gaman avasthaa then the native suffers from many griefs. This write up is supposed to tell you all that the dictums are not contradictory to each other and that they are all correct in a circumstance only we do not know how to place them together for results and evaluation, the classics just drop hints the evaluation has to be considered considering all components our efforts cannot be hinged on a single principle that we have a yoga it

Karma, freewill and destiny.

 Karma is something that is a continuous process and is unavoidable, while astrology is a personal preference. One has to make efforts, for example, you cannot be a doctor without the study of medicine so an uneducated won't be able to be a doctor, but who can stop him from opening up a hospital if he has the resources and will to do so. Like all other subjects, astrology has its limitations, it is not fortune-telling but a precise possibility analysis. Coming to efforts almost everyone makes an effort to study with the purpose of acquiring employment almost 80% fail to source the preferred employment and about 50% have to choose other avenues of livelihood, a skilful astrologer can guide by evaluating the possibilities but then skilful and honest astrologers are rarest of the rare, so it again rolls back to one thing if possible avoid visiting astrologers until you are satisfied with the skillset and integrity of the person involved. As regards if everything is predestined why should one make an effort, things are predestined but karma is continuous it happens automatically as an action, reaction or effort to acquire. For example, a homeless beggar sleeping on the roadside is run down by a drunk brat speeding through his new wheel ride. The beggar was sleeping at his usual place but the predestined event still took place through some other individual, the action was through the brat and the reaction is the injury or death of the beggar. No doubt we all have some free choices called free will but they are operative within the circle of destiny, destiny is based on past karmas as per our scriptures and texts. Let's talk about medicine if one has to die no medicine or care can stop the imminent death, so as per your thinking process why should one take recourse in medicine for physical suffering, we all know and accept the limitation of medicine but when we talk about astrology we don't even think about the possibility of its scope, purpose and limitations, agreed that 90% of the astrologers are without any skill set or are dishonest, remedies specifically related to recitation and donation are for the mind they may help the mind to understand or to optimise the decisions subject to the conditions and circumstances at hand but remedies of any sort have no power to alter or avert. Now a question may arise as to why a certain remedy as named by me recitation or donation may stabilise a mind the reason is the conditioning we receive right from birth that God is omnipotent which actually is true as per the scriptures, evidence and reality so when we recite or donate we feel better as related to mind and it may help the individual facing a certain challenge or situation.

Native with predominance of wind feels cold, speaks a lot, walks fast, restless, brave, jealous, unwell, unfortunate, moral less, makes sound with teeth, bad friend, music lover, thin, clever and selfish in making friend, often fly in dreams.

हनुमुखं तथा वाच्यं लग्नादाद्यदृकाणके। १९।

There are three drekana’s. if the lord of ascendant is in the first drekana then the ascendant represents a face,2 and 12th eyes,3rd and 11th ears,4/12 nose,5/9 cheeks,6/8 beard, and 7th mouth.

लग्नमध्येदृकाणे च कण्ठांशौ बाहुकौ तथा।

पार्श्वे च ह्रदयक्रोडे नाभिं चैव यथाक्रमम्। २०।

If the second drekana is represented by the ascendant the neck represents 2 and 12. shoulders 3/11arms,4/10 back,5/9 heart,6/8 stomach,7 the navel area.

वस्तिर्लिङ्गगुदे वृषणावुरु जानुजङ्घके।

पदति चैवमुदितैर्वाममङ्गम तृतीयके। २१।

In the third drekana the ascendant represents the lower abdomen,2/12 the penis and anal area,3/10 groins, thighs,5/9 knees,6/8 ankles, and 7th feet. First, to 6th represent the right side and the 7th to 12th left side.

Mars and Ketu Yoga in astrology.

 Recently someone posted a video on Mars + Ketu combination as Pisaach yoga, Now let us try to understand the meaning of the Piscach word - The literal meaning of the word is devil creature, but when we think of human nature when a person does something violent and against the acceptable social norms one said to be of Pisaach पिशाच प्रकृति, Jamini has mentioned three sutras in the Stri jataka chapter related to Mars and Ketu combination and its influence on the 7th or 8th, Jamini mentions that in such a condition the said lady can in a fit of aggression harm or kill her partner ( sutra 49-52) Stri jataka ( Jamini sutras by Dr Suresh Chander Mishra).
